Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the tools, your files and privacy. Still stuck? Get in touch.
Is it really free? What is the catch?
Every tool is free to use, with no credits, no trial and no paid tier to unlock. The site is paid for by ads placed around the tools. We do not add watermarks to your files and we do not ask you to create an account.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Open a tool, add your file and download the result. There is no account, password or email address to give us.
What happens to my files?
Your files are processed on our server and deleted as soon as the result is sent to your browser. Nothing is kept for later, and we do not read or share the contents of your documents.
How do I compress a PDF to a specific size?
Open Compress PDF, type the size you need in kilobytes or pick a preset such as 100 KB, 200 KB or 1 MB, then run the tool. The tool lowers image resolution and quality step by step, and stops as soon as the file is under your target. Text and vector graphics are kept sharp. If your target cannot be reached without losing too much quality, the tool tells you the smallest size it reached.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?
PDF to Word works best on PDFs with selectable text. A scanned PDF is a picture of pages, so the converter cannot read the words in it. Run the scan through OCR first, then convert. Complex layouts can need small adjustments in Word after conversion.
Which file types can I use?
PDF tools take PDF files. Word to PDF accepts DOC, DOCX, ODT and RTF. JPG to PDF accepts JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF images. Each tool lists the files it accepts above its upload area.
What is the largest file I can upload?
Each file can be up to 25 MB. Merging and splitting work with long PDFs, and PDF to JPG converts up to 150 pages at a time. Split a very large file first if a tool asks you to.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Every tool works in a mobile browser. You can pick files from your phone storage or cloud app, arrange them, and download the result. The signature tool works with your finger on touch screens.
